Allinformation.com- Yahoo reportedly is pursuing a strategy of downsizing in the sector of international business operations by reducing the number of employees in Asia, including Indonesia. Sales performance is not as expected suspected to be the reason for Yahoo to do the trimming.
Although reportedly downsizing in some countries in Asia Pacific such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia, the issue of the reduction of Yahoo employees do not happen in Singapore. Only, one of the most senior head of sales at Yahoo Singapore for the Asia Pacific region, Yvonne Chang, reportedly decided to resign.
Reported by TechCrunch, Thursday (06/11/2014), Yahoo spokeswoman confirmed the departure of Chang of Yahoo APAC regional office. But he declined to comment about the downsizing that will be done in several countries of Asia Pacific region.
"We recently shared with Yahoo employees in EMEA that we conduct an operational review which proposes changes to the way our team is structured and businesses in the Middle East region. It is part of our efforts to streamline operations in the region and reorganize resources and investment by setting up Yahoo's business in the region on a sustainable growth path, "he said.
The spokesman also said that the European, Middle East and Africa that fall within the EMEA market so important to Yahoo. The company is deeply committed to providing the best product and experience for users and advertisers in the region.
TechCrunch reliable sources said Yahoo will soon be closing the office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in the third quarter of this year. Meanwhile, in Malaysia and Indonesia offices will be closed on 14 December.
Previously, Yahoo reportedly has cut 400 employees from its office in Bangalore, India. Some of the engineers who had been working in the Hindustan State offered to move and to strengthen Yahoo's headquarters in California, USA.
